“One of the hottest, young, up and coming
musicians in our area”
19-year-old singer and songwriter Emily O’Neal began her career in 2020 with the release of her singles REVOLVE AROUND YOU, Catch Feelings, and Leo Energy, which she made with producers Lucio Rubino (Paramore, StorySide:B) and Dexter Redding (son of Otis Redding). They were received with rave reviews from Lefuturewave, Saturdays at Seven, Your Music Muse, and more.
She began performing in her local community in North Florida and writing songs at age 13. She immediately fell in love with the process of songwriting and it became an outlet for expressing her emotions. For songwriting, she has been labeled as “One To Watch” by Nashville Songwriters Association International and is a semi-finalist for the Music City Song Star competition.
Her newest single “Paint Me” tackles self doubt and the pressures of society to fit a certain mold. The alt-pop track describes the pains of teenage existence using paint as a metaphor for hiding our insecurities. She hopes this song will help others who feel the same way, and to let them know they are not alone.
Now living in Tennessee, O'Neal studies Music Business at Middle Tennessee State University and continues to create and release new music.
